Tonight is MUSIC BINGO! There are two Thursdays left to get your name in the @celtics tickets drawing…and these are seats you don’t want to miss. See you at 6:30.
Our last featured classic this month traces its origins back to American Prohibition.
The Last Word is a truly magnificent cocktail featuring equal parts Gin, Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur, Green Chartreuse and lime juice. The balance that these four ingredients strike when blended together is nothing short of divine. Four our featured Last Word, were using Gledalough Wild Irish Gin. The heavy dose of herbal botanicals in this gin fit in with both the aggressively herbaceous Chartreuse and the bittersweet tones of the Luxardo, with the lime bringing in just the right amount of acidity to brighten the drink up.
Come in and try one today, or if you’re feeling adventurous, ask about the equally delicious descendents of The Last Word: Paper Plane and Naked and Famous.

Our next featured classic has definitely enjoyed a resurgence of popularity in recent years. This is, of course, the infamous Negroni.
Dating all the way back to 1919 Florence, this cocktail is both bold and simple. It’s just three ingredients in equal parts: Gin, sweet vermouth, and Campari. Making a good Negroni is easy enough, but making a great one requires finding just the right gin.
In our collection we’ve found that The Botanist Islay Dry Gin fits the bill splendidly, with bold and brash botanicals that cut through the bitter notes of Campari and the herbal tones of the sweet vermouth.
Come on in and try one for yourself!

Do you like Martinis?
How about Manhattans?
Out next classic featured for Ginuary is the precursor to both of these drinks. Meet the Martinez: A cocktail so old that its true origins are largely unknown, though it seems to have popped up somewhere in the late 1800s.
A combination of Old Tom Gin, sweet vermouth, a touch of Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur, and a couple dashes of bitters makes this stiff sipper a true delight. For our Martinez, we chose @barrhillgin Old Tom Gin, “Tom Cat.” The barrel aging fits beautifully with the honey botanicals and plays off Carpano Antica sweet vermouth perfectly.
Come grab one and check out the rest of our Ginuary libations!

We love our tiki drinks here at WHYM, so we couldn’t let GINuary go by without featuring a gin tiki drink, and we couldn’t think of any better example than the Singapore Sling.
Originally called the Gin Sling, this classic dates back to the late 1800s at the Long Bar at the Raffles Hotel in Singapore. This one’s loaded up with fruity goodness. With gin as the base spirit, this cocktail gets shaken up with @heeringcherry , D.O.M. Benedictine, Cointreau, pineapple juice, lime juice, and just a touch of both grenadine and angostura bitters. The resulting concoction is deep, layered, and complex.
For our Singapore Sling, we’re featuring Engine Gin. Engine is an organic gin from Italy that has soft floral notes in its botanicals. These play wonderfully off of the bold, sweet, fruity notes of the other spirits and juices of this old world classic.
